Drives is a compilation of hundreds of 3-5 second shots edited from televised professional golf footage that capture the ball in mid-air. The movement of the perpetually falling/flying white ball against the blue sky is seemingly random, yet structured by a system (the order in which the drives were made).

Slut Me Fantasy/ AKA:The Debut of Kelly Flynn
As Daniel Joseph Martinez states, “This was a performance for the camera.”
When I moved to San Francisco in 1997 I was told that Halloween there was the ‘Holiest’ of days. This is true. I was also told that no matter what I decided to be, I would be a slut. A zombie slut, an elf slut, a mermaid slut, a witch slut, a pumpkin slut... No matter what, a slut. It was a ‘free pass night’ for all girls, even the ‘good’ ones, and I couldn’t avoid it. No matter what, a slut. That Halloween, after many failed attempts for something sexy like glitter or snow, I went to the parties as a high school gym teacher. Clip board, Dodge Ball, whistle, ill fitting sweat pants and white sneakers. Not sexy. Or so I thought.
In the fall of 2007, one decade and a lifetime of romantic and sexual identity crises, I decided I needed to re-find, redefine and re-empower my ‘sexual’ self concept. I needed a free pass, for life, for me, for real. I went to a sex shop and bought as many ‘costumes’ as would fit into my car. I crawled into the skins of the pre-fabricated ‘ideal’ women. My size 12 body... (USDA average woman’s body) squeezed into the costumes normally modeled by woman half my size. The outcome was a fabulous photo shoot that so far has been published as a 2008 pin-up calendar.

"Intervention in old city centre during the Boulevard Festival. A ‘blank barricade’ as a reaction to conflicting opinions about the fortified city and the conservative attitude versus the progressive view towards its preservation. The barricade as an impartial foundation for a riot; as a contemporary, provisional stronghold; as a revolutionary décor in which everyone was invited to take up their particular stand on whatever."

"A solo project at Galerie West in The Hague. Shortly before the gallery was to be renovated I made this final exhibition in the old building. The house had once been a hospice for people who had reached the end of the line in psychiatric treatment. The warren of decrepit little rooms, staircases, kitchens and corridors exuded a hallucinatory atmosphere. Based on the narratives embedded in these spaces, I composed the fictitious story of Jan and Archibald. In the exhibition you encountered the last remnants of their illegal residence in the gallery space. What remained showed that they were a couple that cheerfully drifted between human and the inhuman, but that the pair gradually withdrew, becoming a kind of playful pariahs.
The story took on the form of an installation using staged scenes. For this I incorporated existing artefacts and situations I encountered in the house, to which I added alienating ingredients. For the first time in the history of the gallery not just the exhibition spaces were utilized, but the whole building."
